Tasks in Action: Optimizing Instruction in Mixed Courses with Heritage Speakers

This webinar addresses the instructional needs of heritage speakers in mixed classes from a task-based language teaching (TBLT) perspective. Drawing on heritage speakers’ bi/multilingual experiences and insights from initial TBLT research with heritage speakers, the webinar offers practical considerations for differentiating tasks and activities to better support learners with diverse linguistic backgrounds and needs. It also invites reflection on the design of pedagogical materials that are responsive to the experiences of heritage speakers.
